A mum of 3 beautiful girls, Rebecca lives and works with her husband on their family dairy farm in South Gippsland and if life weren’t busy enough is a part-time primary school teacher teaching Physical Education. Rebecca describes herself as a hardworking and kind-hearted person, striving to live her best life, bringing up 3 strong girls, who know they can do and be anything and has a passion to make a difference through the love of movement.

Rebecca understands the high and lows life can throw at us.  Through all her life challenges and triumphs, she remains positive and humble. Pushing the boundaries but remaining an open book to help others know they are not alone in their struggles. Rebecca has faith in the universe and mother nature that everything in our lives happen for a reason.

Why would you like to be a GGC ambassador?

I feel like I have something positive to offer the Gippsland Community. I am passionate about movement and the difference it can make for people\’s physical and mental health. I know there is a pleasurable way that everyone can confidently move, and I love nothing more than helping people find their movement fit. I am by no means your typical looking trainer I have a strong mum body that I am proud of and move in a way that makes it feel good, not to punish myself.

Local Government Area: Latrobe

Allison is a passionate runner who loves writing and podcasting about running. You can find her out on the Grand Ridge Rail Trail with her husband and two kids (on bikes) or her beautiful boxers.  Despite have a senior management role, Allison still finds time to be active and is proud member of the local Latrobe Walk Jog Run group.

Why would you like to be a GGC ambassador?

To encourage more Gippy Girls to get active.

What a Program!

“I’m a PE teacher and I think you do a great job. You connect with the kids really well. I only teach one year level, but this groups is so mixed, you do a really good job.” 

Program Coordinator East Gippsland – Yvonne Porter

As the Program Coordinator for East Gippsland, I oversee all of the amazing programs and projects we are a part of within East Gippsland. I have previously worked for Netball Victoria & Victoria University across participation, coach development, sociological research and wrote a thesis on building and maintaining culture in sporting teams.

When I’m not travelling around beautiful East Gippsland spreading the joy and connection that comes with sport and physical activity, you can find me at the netball courts- either at Lakes Entrance or in Melbourne in the Victorian Netball League. I am one of 52 netball coaches in Victoria with an Advanced accreditation and one of 13 based regionally.

GIPPY GIRL Tribe Member

CAT

Local Government Area: Wellington

Cat has been one of the number one supporters of the Gippy Girls Can campaign since it first started in 2018! Cat has been sharing her running, walking, mountain bike riding photos with the online community, encouraging the women of Gippsland to get active together!
Cat is a mum of 2 children and a Staffy, and in her free time, she enjoys working out at home, being a part of a local running group, and volunteers at her local parkrun as a Co-event director!

Why would you like to be a GGC ambassador?

To empower others.
Give women and girls confidence that we don\’t all have to be extremely fit to give things a go.
